Tongue Hi everyone. I am new to this game but not new to RA. 35 years now but still going strong and getting the most out of life. I teach the piano which helps pay for my holidays. Keyboard Jean.

Hi Jean,

Welcome to the forum. I'm fairly new to RA - just over 3 years. Am working part time and taking care of my 8 year old son. Hope you find the forum as useful and supportive as I do.

Hi Jean and welcome.

I'm new to RA- just over 2 years. I'm working almost full time (4.5 days ) but thinking about cutting my hours further.I hope you find the forum as helpful as I have.

I assume 35 years means you've had RA for 35 yrs? If so, it's good to hear you're going strong and getting the most out of life. I must admit I find it very hard going at times.

Loking forward to getting to know you better

Hi Jean,
Did you mean 35 years of R.A? iF so , WOW! it is so great that you can teach the piano.
I am Fiona and I am 52 now and have had R.A for 15 years.
I have been having a very good (comparatively) 7 months regarding R.A symptoms, but
my Spine has developed Kaphosis ( three tilted forwards Vertabrae), which I don't think
is related, but sure is painful!
'Hoping to read a lot more posts frm you.
With kind regards,
FionaSmile

Hi Jean and welcome.

I'm recently diagnosed and it is taking me a while to come to terms with. I like to have a giggle on here 'cos life's too short to be miserable, even when we're all suffering so much. I used to play piano, (badly) but love musical instruments. I work as a Teaching assstant in a primary school so always have access to music.

I hope you can give us some advice if you've had RA so long. Everyone on here has given me great advice and I appreciate all their help. I hope I can be of some help too.

Take care
Chris

Welcome to the forum!

I'm Nina, 41, married to David (soon to be 40!) and we have a son aged 5. I was diagnosed in March last year and currently take 20mg mtx, 10mg (daily) prednisolene, painkillers and two lots of bp meds.

Unfortunately for me the mtx has failed me so I am currently awaiting assessment for anti tnf drugs.

There a lot of wonderful people on this forum and so knowledgable too.

Take care, Nina x

Hi Jean,

Love A big warm welcome to the the forum. I'm 50, married with our 23 yr-old daughter living at home, and was diagnosed with RA last year. After not doing so well on other RA meds, I'm now taking Humira and waiting for it to kick-in.

love,

Barbara
